Frank Bruseker became Association president in 2003, after having served as a district representative for Calgary City from 1999 to 2003. As district representative, he chaired the Pension Committee and the Committee on Support for Local Presidents and served as a member of the Resolutions Committee, the Finance Committee and the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF) Committee. Mr. Bruseker taught for the Calgary Board of Education for 10 years before being elected MLA for Calgary Northwest in 1989. During his two terms as an opposition party MLA, he held a number of positions including caucus whip, house leader, committee member and critic of a number of government portfolios. Mr. Bruseker returned to teaching with the Calgary Board of Education in 1997. As president, Mr. Bruseker chairs the CTF Committee and the Membership Eligibility Board, serves as a member of the Strategic Planning Group, represents the Association on the CTF Board of Directors and serves as Provincial Executive Council Liaison for the Science Coun
