The US Presidential election of 2000 was one for the textbooks – too close to call even after the votes were in, and ultimately decided by the US Supreme Court.
The 2004 election shaped up to be more of the same – just as nasty, just as much of a roller-coaster ride, just as difficult to call as the weeks counted down.
So, less than 48 hours after the polls close, what happened – and what happens next? What do the results tell us about the American political system, and what does it mean for Canada?
