Is there ever such a thing as perfect silence? Tinnitus is the perception of sound when there is no actual external sound. For people with Tinnitus, it can be difficult to find silence, and tinnitus can fill even the quietest moments with unwanted sound. It’s like that ringing sound in your ears after a loud concert, after mowing the lawn, or using power tools. For most people, tinnitus isn’t problematic. When tinnitus becomes chronic, additional help may be needed. The speaker will discuss what Tinnitus is, what it means, why it happens, when to seek help, and what can be done about this very common complaint in the hearing clinic.
